Project: Building Salma a website

After meeting with Salma, learning more about his project, and assessing how we could support his needs with our current abilities, we decided to build Salma a website.

Our website seeks to:

1) Provide basic information to potential donors about Salma's past and present projects

2) Establish an online presence for Salma

3) Organize the conceptual and technical plan for Salma's demonstration farm in a clear, understandable manner

Process and methods

1) Telling a story

Alex (one of our classes' guest speakers), mentioned that the best way to communicate your message to others is through storytelling. We wanted to showcase Salma's various projects through a story of who Salma is and how he developed his work and goals.

2) Captivating visuals

We want potential collaborators and donors to be able to visualize Salma's projects. Through Salma and Pete, we collected photos that showcase Salma's work and demo farm progress.

1) Breaking down large ideas into digestible sub-topics

Because Salma is working on many different, multifaceted ideas at once, we were initially overwhelmed by information. We want to provide detail about the many aspects of each project in a way that is easy for collaborators and donors to understand.
